A pushchair that is all-terrain and offers great maneuverability will be perfect whether you're seeking a stroller for woodland walks or taking a stroll along the high streets. These models are usually equipped with large wheels and a suspension system that provides an easy ride on bumpy terrain.

There's a whole range of 3 wheel travel system-wheel all terrain pushchairs available that offer excellent off-road performance. They are perfect if live on the countryside or regularly walk on uneven, rough terrain. They are often more robust and sturdy than a normal pushchair, and have special features such as large wheels that are puncture-proof to deal with the toughest of surfaces. They tend to be quite large, which means they can be tricky to manoeuvre in narrow spaces or through aisles in shops.

All-terrain buggy seat can be positioned either parent or world facing. They can grow with your child from newborn to toddler. It's equipped with foam-filled 'never flat' tyres for smooth rides, dual frame suspension and luxurious padding in the seat unit that offers excellent postural support and comfort. It has a 360-degree lockable front wheel that allows for effortless maneuverability as well as a swift one-handed folding. It's suitable for babies from birth and can be paired with an UPPAbaby carrycot or infant car seat adapters (sold separately).

Another alternative is the iCandy Peach All-Terrain, which features large tyres as well as only a single steering wheel in the front. It's not as flexible as the other strollers with all-terrain wheels on this list however, it is able to handle hilly terrain well and features a large one-hand fold that is ideal for long walks in the countryside, or long journeys. It's also suitable for babies and has a large sun canopy that extends as well as a number of fantastic features for parents such as a brake pedal that is easy to use, adjustable handlebar and generously big basket.

Stores

There are some excellent all-terrain pushchairs that are ideal for parents who want to take their child off-road, but do not want to tackle Ben Nevis. They offer the best of both. Find a model that has good all-terrain capabilities, sturdy suspension and large puncture-proof wheels, but is designed in a traditional pushchair design with reversible seating and carrycot options.

UPPAbaby's popular Ridge all-terrain pushchair is a great illustration of this. It offers excellent suspension, an easy one-handed fold and a generous 10kg basket, but it also comes with features that are suitable for parents, such as an adjustable handlebar, a hand-operated brake on the right-hand side and a large covered storage space. The hood can be removed, and washed with cool soapy water to prevent mildew or mould.

If you're planning on driving your all-terrain pushchair off road, it's worth opting for air-filled tyres, rather than those with rubber grips. They'll provide a more comfortable ride on rough terrain and will be more maneuverable in tight spaces. If you intend to use your all terrain pushchair for occasional jogging make sure that the front wheel can be swivelable or has a quick release feature to lock it in place for more stability.

It's important to check the fabric of the pushchair is machine washed to maintain them in perfect condition. If not, a spot cleaning with warm water and a small amount of soap gentle enough should be sufficient. Drying the fabric thoroughly outdoors will also help to prevent the growth of mould and mildew.
