The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot vacuum robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its low cost and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

The Q5 Pro, and best robot hoover its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've tested. They are equipped with motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model), they use smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also feature carpet boost, a feature that increases the robot's power when it sees the presence of dirt on the carpet in order to get it clean quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare They are also adept in removing dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.

It's still a great deal particularly if your office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you're at work, or going to school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on very well and can't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad for a dry one in just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its smart cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also features a powerful suction and an automatic vacuum and mop bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This high-performing combination vacuum and mop utilizes advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it learns your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average when compared to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when it's in a room with carpet to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is ideal for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could clean an entire home, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It did a decent cleaning job on different rooms and floors with various kinds of flooring, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds and cables.

It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming this feature, which we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba rather than the compact models, this mop and robot vacuum is one of the most appealing looking in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot vacuum best we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in the mornings prior to work or at night when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing with a little more noise and some extra cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and detect obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vac works and best robot hoover alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home according to the degree of dirt they tend to be.

If you have a larger home, you should consider selecting a model with a zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you tell the robot which area of your home must be cleaned using the app or voice command. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. For busy families, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be extremely useful.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than the price suggests. It is a great job vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion that cleans better than most of the other robot hoover and mop mop cleaners we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, plan a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it's more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that we've examined. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
