Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment with new attachments. They can also improve the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as Titans from eth, have no changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be slotted into weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or additional impact when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or gotten from chests or missions. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats as well as the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are gems that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the Item upgrader mod they are connected to, for example adding an Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and then replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, except for inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant differences from earlier versions. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can be upgraded a specific number of times before they are "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few items and maximize the impact of those items, rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

If an Best item upgrade is finished being leveled in this way, it is capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy and it is reset to 0 on failure or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes that are available depends on the item's base. For instance, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade process will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is placed in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item does not attain its maximum level the NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with another set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials but will have lower chances of success.

Engineers utilize a level to measure the height of the building against a known point, like the benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and the level before turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that structures are built to an extremely high degree of precision and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a vital aspect of the game and can drastically increase the strength of an item, damage, or other attributes. You can do this through the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be performed in the rarest of circumstances.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items come with a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats to your build more often than other items. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This can be a great or bad thing dependent on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also come with a bonus that increases the item's power by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you improve a product, the better your chance of obtaining the bonus of a different kind.

The game also includes number sets that give the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an item. This is a great method to add lots of power to a character without spending lots of money.

Many players prefer to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the beginning of the game. This is because rerolling could give players a faster path to a powerful character which allows them to achieve high tiers and progress the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged in different ways. They can be different dimensions, have none of the elements, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or sorting information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an extensive selection of upgradeable set items. Some are worth upgrading, while some aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense values and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already huge.

Some set items are upgraded for their own unique functions that can be useful in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to parity with the levels. For instance the Immortal King set has a large level range, from 29 to 76. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button on the character screen. The attributes of the item will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternatively, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when they are updated. Particularly for weapons with spell/weapon damage glyphs, upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will result in a significant improvement in their stats. It will also boost the defense of armor that has an updated look.
